Can I import my Assets?
Yes!
We recommend using our Import Service when you have several hundred or thousand assets to import at one time. To learn more about imports, view our dedicated article on imports.
If you are trying to create fewer than 250 assets, we often recommend using the clone asset feature on the mobile.
Update Existing Assets with an Import
We are able to do an update import for asset information. To do so, please provide us with the updated export of your assets you want changed. You can export the information from your account by clicking on the Export icon on the corresponding tab.

Once you've done that, make the changes to the data (not the header rows) and send that back to us. We can do the import which will update information that you change on the spreadsheet(s).
Here are the details of what is done with the import update:
Asset Import
This function imports assets in the same format as the asset export from the web app grid. If the asset has an "id" then it is updated. If it doesn't have an "id" then it's created. Attributes are updated/inserted by the attribute name given in the header. As with the export each sheet represents a different class of assets.
- ONLY the following columns updated: ID1, ID2, Status, Description, UrgentNote, Location, Area, Lat, Lon, (Attributes)
- Moving Asset to different Account is not allowed (update won't happen for that asset)
- If locationId is empty, then location with corresponding locationNum will be looked for under Account, then locationName. If none found, new location is created for locationName/Num specified. If no location num/name specifiec, then a new one called "default" is created.
- New Area created if area with name not found in the location
- If Status with the name given is not found, the status will go to empty (will not create a new status)
- id, className, id1, id2, status, accountId, accountName, accountNum, locationId, locationName, locationNum, areaName, description, urgentNote, latitude, longitude, createdAt, createdByName, [Attributes...]
- Attribute updates on the import DO NOT update the attribute selection list for the class in form builder.
- To import attribute UOM's the attribute needs to be set as a number type and be formatted like "value (uom}". For example "2 (Ton)" will import 2 as the value and "Ton" as the unit of measure for that attribute
If you need us to manipulate the data for you for the import, then that service is priced under Professional Services. If the data is coming from another account, we will need authorization from an admin on that account to do any exports of data.
